Crunchtime

Here is the moment you all have been waiting for: my first solo blog! I make no promises on the content from here on out. Many of you have requested to follow my journey (and I’ve heard that I might get old and forget things, so I will gladly let the Internet be my memory), so here comes a series of tales, truths, turmoils and triumphs.

For those of you that don’t know, I have been to Uganda three times now, and I got another opportunity to go again. This time, I get to go serve with a new mission in the country called Restoration Gateway. Many people have asked what I will be doing, but I don’t really have a great answer for that. I know the mission has an orphanage and medical center (children and the medical world, my favorites 🙂 ), but for more info, visit http://www.restorationgateway.org.

Just 2.2 weeks from today (June 26th), I will be embarking on the adventure into the (slightly) known and unknown. My trip will be approximately 5 weeks (with a hopeful return of July 31st). I have a team of between 5 and (insert number).

As you can see, many of the details have not been revealed to me. I am a detailed planner, so just as you might have guessed, the Lord has already been testing and teaching me. The best I can say is that the Lord called, and thankfully, I listened and followed. I have tried to plan but:

“In their hearts humans plan their course,

but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9

In a way, this is the least prepared for a trip I have ever been, but I think this is the most peaceful I have ever felt during preparation too.
I am so grateful to those who are a part of this call through support, both prayerfully and monetarily. I pray the Lord blesses many of us through this (both In Uganda and here in America). Thank you to all who are still reading at this point…this is probably the shortest of the blogs to come, so hold onto your hats and get ready 😉
Peace and love,
Kelsey
